Univar Solutions Inc. announced the expansion of its distribution agreement with Solvay Group’s Novecare Coatings and Industrial Process Solutions business units. The agreement covers the distribution of coatings products in the United States and industrial products in the United States and Canada.
According to Univar, in its role as the only national distributor for Solvay in the coatings and industrial market, the company will use its reach and technical expertise to grow the presence of Solvay products across the United States and Canada. Novecare Coatings chemistries are used in paints, adhesives, inks, waterborne and architectural coatings. The industrial product lines are used in lubricants and metal working, metal cleaning and finishing, automotive and chemical manufacturing. Univar is also currently the largest distributor of Solvay’s surfactants and additives.
“Not only does this agreement continue to strengthen our existing relationship, it also allows both of us to better serve these extremely dynamic market segments,” said Joshua Hicks, vice president of Industrial Solutions at Univar Solutions. “Solvay has an excellent reputation in the market for producing high-performance materials, and for continued innovation, quality, and application expertise that brings differential performance.”
