Barentz International, a life science ingredients distributor, has expanded its activities in South America with the acquisition of Grasse Aromas e Ingredientes, a Brazilian distributor of flavor and nutrition ingredients for the human nutrition and pharmaceutical industries.
Grasse Aromas e Ingredientes Ltda, headquartered in Diadema, São Paulo, Brazil, has served the Brazilian food, beverage and consumer health markets for the past 25 years. Barentz says in addition to Grasse’s expertise in taste and health, the company is also supported by a strong sales force and its own development and application laboratories.
The acquisition is a joint venture between Barentz and partner Tovani Benzaquen, a Sao Paulo-based distributor of life science ingredients that has been part of Barentz International since 2018.
